Sanctions Aston Martin with a fine of 450,000 dollars

The International Automobile Federation (FIA) did not take any harsh sanctions against the Red Bull team this Friday for having exceeded the cost limit last season and, in addition to an economic fine, it has reduced its test time in the wind tunnel , while Aston Martin has been fined 450,000 dollars -more than 452,000 euros- for “procedural breaches”.

The FIA ??noted in its opinion that the Austrian team acted “in a cooperative manner throughout the review process” and that it “has tried to provide additional information and evidence” when requested.

“There is no allegation or evidence that Red Bull Racing has at any time attempted to act in bad faith, dishonestly or fraudulently, or deliberately withheld any cost cap information,” said the FIA, stressing that the offer of sanction offered to Red Bull was “accepted” by them.

The team led by Christian Horner acknowledged that it presented some costs “incorrectly excluded and/or adjusted” and that it exceeded £1,864,000, and the FIA ??clarified that “if a tax credit had been applied correctly”, it would only have exceeded more of 400,000 pounds.

In this way, he decided to impose a fine of seven million dollars and a “minor sports sanction” by reducing his testing time in the wind tunnel by ten percent for twelve months from the execution of the punishment.

Hours later, the FIA ??issued another statement sanctioning Aston Martin with a fine of $450,000 – more than €452,000 – for “a procedural violation” because it did not submit the necessary documentation for the 2021 reporting period because “incorrectly excluded and/or adjusted costs in the calculation of its relevant costs”. For this reason, it condemns the British team to pay 450 dollars to the FIA.
