MADRID, 29 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The investigation services of the French Competition Authority have searched the offices of the American microchip manufacturer Nvidia in France due to suspicions that the company is engaging in anti-competitive practices, according to the ‘Wall Street Journal’.

As part of an investigation into the cloud, the French Competition Authority has expressed concern that established companies in the sector may exclude smaller ones.

The French Competition Authority reported in a statement on Wednesday that, after authorization from a judge, it carried out a raid “on the premises of a company suspected of having carried out anti-competitive practices in the card sector.” graphics”, without specifying the name of the company, although the ‘Wall Street Journal’ points to Nvidia as the company investigated.

In any case, the French Competition Authority recalls in its statement that these raids do not presuppose the existence of a violation of the law attributable to the company involved in the alleged anti-competitive practices, since this could only be established through “a complete investigation into the Deep inside the affair”.

“The authority will not make any further comments, either on the entity or on the practices in question,” the statement concludes.

Nvidia, an American manufacturer of microchips and graphics cards, recently reported that in its second fiscal quarter, ended in July, it obtained a net profit of 6,188 million dollars (5,691 million euros), a figure that multiplies by more than nine the profits of the same quarter of last year (843%) and triples those obtained in its first fiscal quarter.

Nvidia shares on the Nasdaq index closed this Thursday with a rise of 1.46%, to $430.89 per share (407.76 euros).
