MADRID, 26 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Government assures that the Center for Sociological Research (CIS), since it has the socialist sociologist José Félix Tezanos as president, annually conducts more interviews and more studies than in the previous stage, with the PP in the Executive.

Faced with a battery of questions formulated by Vox deputies, the Government distances itself from the studies carried out by the CIS, recalling that the public institute has “management autonomy in the exercise of its functions” and that, as an autonomous body, it is the Center who determines “the sociological studies that it carries out, always adhering to an objective criterion of a technical and scientific nature”.

What the Government does emphasize is that, since Tezanos has been here, “the available data show that the Center for Sociological Research is functioning, denoting an increase in its activity.”

As he explains, “while in 2017 81,517 interviews and 33 studies were carried out, in 2022 140,762 interviews and 42 studies were carried out, which means 72.68% more interviews and 27.27% more studies”.

And, in the same way, he remarks that “the publication periods of the barometers have gone from being above 15 days to being below five”. “These data reveal the application of the principles of effectiveness and efficiency in its operation,” he concludes.

These figures are influenced by the fact that, as a result of the pandemic and the state of alarm, the CIS put an end to its traditional method of personal interviews in the homes of the respondents and implemented a new system of telephone interviews, which has allowed it to multiply the number of interviews and have the results available beforehand.
