The 64-year-old woman and the 40-year-old man, seriously injured on Thursday due to the strong wind storm in the capital of Almería, remain admitted to the ICU of the Torrecárdenas University Hospital in very serious condition.

Both the woman, who suffered the collapse of part of a palm tree on the shelter of an urban bus stop in the center of the city, and the man, a worker in a building under construction who suffered a fall from a height while working, present “polytrauma” due to impact.

According to what health sources have told Europa Press, of the other five people injured in different incidents caused by the strong gusts of wind in the capital and the west of Almería caused by the storm ‘Ciaran’, three were discharged from hospital at the last hour of this Thursday, while two others continue to wait for tests through consultation.

However, both have minor injuries, as well as multiple contusions. In total, a total of seven people have required hospital medical attention, the last being a young man who had to be evacuated to the Poniente Hospital after falling from a scooter.

Almería has been the province where the highest number of incidents have been managed, a total of 156, due to the impact of the storm ‘Ciaran’ in Andalusia, the majority related to the strong gusts of wind recorded during the day.

The warnings responded, above all, to the fall of trees, electrical or telephone wiring on public roads, stone falls on roads and the displacement of street furniture objects such as containers, signs and billboards, as well as falls of part of roof covers. buildings.

The Local Police of Almería closed Cabo de Gata Avenue to traffic, from Ego Street to Juan XXIII Avenue, due to the risk of palm trees falling due to the wind. Likewise, in the capital, several warnings were also received regarding the fall of branches on vehicles, on Rodrigo Vivas Miras Street with La Vega Street and on Arroyo Frío Street, without causing any injuries.

Also in Roquetas, other warnings have been managed, such as the detachment of a piece of the roof of the gymnasium of the Llanos del Marín school and the fall of the roof of a supermarket on Thompson Street, causing the evacuation of the premises, with no evidence of personal injuries in neither of these two incidents. Likewise, in this municipality the attic wall of a building on Avenida de La Legión Española collapsed, which caused no injuries.

On the other hand, the fall of tree branches on the A-7 highway as it passed through Níjar, the fall of a tree on the N-340 in El Ejido and another on the A-317 in Vélez-Blanco stood out.

Other incidents on the roads due to the passage of the storm in the province occurred at kilometer five of the AL-9105 in Huércal-Overa, on the A-92 in Gergal, AL304, on the AL-3104 in Almería capital, in the AL-9029 in Roquetas de Mar, A-92 in Abrucena, on the A-334 in Cantoria, on the A-350 kilometer 14 in Pulpí and on the AL-3115 in Níjar.

In addition to Almería capital, incidents have also been recorded in the municipalities of Roquetas de Mar, Abrucena, Albox, Cantoria, Carboneras, El Ejido, Enix, Gergal, Huércal-Overa, La Mojonera, Níjar, Pulpí, Vélez-Blanco, Vélez- Rubio and Viator.
