The champion solved Hamilton’s attempt and sealed the World Cup for Red Bull

The Spaniard suffered a serious accident but returned to the race to be seventh

MADRID, 23 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Dutch driver Max Verstappen (Red Bull) snatched the victory from the Englishman Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) six laps from the end in the United States Grand Prix, a race in Austin that Carlos Sainz (Ferrari) abandoned in the first corner and that left a miracle of Fernando Alonso (Alpine), seventh.

Verstappen signed the eighth victory in a row for Red Bull, which tied the World Constructors’ title to dedicate it to Dietrich Mateschitz – founder of the team who died on Saturday -. The brand new champion since last weekend in Suzuka signed his 13th victory of the season, ahead of Hamilton and the Monegasque Charles Leclerc (Ferrari).

The race had heads and tails for the two Spanish drivers. Sainz, who started from pole, was knocked out in the first corner by George Russell’s Mercedes, while Alonso signed a seventh place starting 14th and after a serious accident in which his car almost took off from the ground.
