The leader of Podemos and Minister of Social Rights, Ione Belarra, has highlighted that the repeal of the crime of sedition allows progress, with the investiture block, on the path of “dialogue, agreement and dejudicialization” of the conflict in Catalonia.
This has been detailed on Twitter after the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, has announced that PSOE and United We Can present a legislative initiative tomorrow to change the Penal Code with which this crime will be called “aggravated public disorder.”
In this way and together with the progressive majority, Belarra has proclaimed that they are advancing in rights and in “respect for the plurinationality” of Spain.
“The repeal of the crime of sedition equates us with the rest of the European countries and allows us to move forward on the path of dialogue, agreement and dejudicialization”, emphasized the general secretary of Podemos.
