Siemens Gamesa has closed an order with the independent producer Vena Energy for the supply of 37 wind turbines of the SG 3.6-145 model in an Indian wind farm, as reported by the company on Friday.
With this project, the firm has already accumulated more than 1 GW in orders for this new turbine model, specifically designed for the weather conditions in India.
The 133 MW park will be located in the state of Karnataka, in the Southwest of the country.
Installation of the 37 wind turbines, to be manufactured at Siemens Gamesa plants in India, will begin in 2023.
Siemens Gamesa and Vena Energy began their collaboration in 2015 and since then they have developed a total of seven parks, with a combined capacity of more than 600 MW, in four different states of the country.

Siemens Gamesa launched its new wind turbine model for India in 2020 and has since announced several major projects.
The company has been present in India since 2009, where it has installed more than 7.5 GW, and has blade and nacelle factories, as well as an operations and maintenance center in Red Hills (Chennai, Tamil Nadu).
