MADRID, 29 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, assured this Wednesday at the start of the NATO Summit that the leaders of the member countries of the Atlantic Alliance will “live up to expectations” in Madrid.
In a few words pronounced before the start of the meeting, already from the IFEMA Madrid room that hosts the summit and in the presence of all the participants and the Secretary General of NATO, Jens Stoltenberg, Sánchez affirmed that the discussions held in the framework of the event “will be fruitful”. “The world is watching us, let’s show our cohesion,” he urged.
Stressing that hosting the event is a “great responsibility and also a great pride”, he stressed that the decisions made in the context of the event will shape the future of NATO.
He also congratulated Finland and Sweden on their forthcoming accession to the Atlantic Alliance. His entry is “an important milestone” in the words of Sánchez, who has been “convinced” that this will “strengthen” the group.
