MADRID, 26 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The government spokeswoman, Isabel Rodríguez, insisted this Tuesday, on the eve of the meeting of the dialogue table with Catalonia, on “the difficulty” that a reform of the Penal Code would entail to modify the crime of sedition.

In the press conference after the Council of Ministers, Rodríguez insisted that the Government “values ??positively” that Spain “could come closer” to changes in other countries around it regarding the crime of sedition, but then he said that they are ” aware” of the “difficulty” involved in the parliamentary majorities that are required.

This is before the dialogue table with the Generalitat meets this Wednesday at the Palacio de la Moncloa, in which the Government will be represented by Rodríguez herself, the Minister of the Presidency, Félix Bolaños; the second vice president, Yolanda Díaz; and the Minister of Culture, Miquel Iceta.

For its part, the Government will be represented by four of its members, all from ERC: the Councilor of the Presidency, Laura Vilagrà; that of Company, Roger Torrent; the one for Interior, Joan Ignasi Elena, and the one for Culture, Natàlia Garriga.

The spokeswoman for the Executive has assured that the Government and the Generalitat are finalizing “the details” of the agreement for this meeting. It is an agreement that is being closed by the Bolaños and Vilagrá teams, according to government sources, who have pointed out that other departments involved in the agreement are also part of these works.

“We are finalizing the work for this meeting to be held. They are very advanced and as soon as we have that agreement we will give an account of the contents and the same,” Isabel Rodríguez emphasized from the Palacio de la Moncloa.
