They are about cybersecurity, green hydrogen, artificial intelligence and advances in cancer treatment

The Office of Science and Technology of the Congress of Deputies, ‘Office C’, presents this Monday the first reports it has prepared since its creation in 2021 and which deal with green hydrogen, artificial intelligence and health, the advances in cancer treatment and cybersecurity.
These studies will be made public within the framework of ‘Week C’, a forum in which research staff and members of Congress will share experiences and which is also being held for the first time.
The presentation of the reports will take place in an act presided over by the president of the Congress, Meritxell Batet, and which will also be attended by the four vice-presidents of the Chamber. During the event, ‘Office C’ will be presented, which has the collaboration of the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT), its Advisory Council and the working method that has been followed to prepare the reports.
Likewise, a round table will be held with international representatives of other parliamentary science and technology offices and the researchers participating in the pairing program between scientific staff and deputies, organized to facilitate the exchange of knowledge between these professionals, will also be presented.
The Office of Science and Technology of the Congress of Deputies has as its main objective to provide the Chamber with scientific evidence on certain topics of interest in order to contribute to informed decision-making for the available scientific knowledge.
The Directorate of the Office, which is held jointly by the Directorate of Studies, Analysis and Publications of the General Secretariat of the Congress of Deputies and the FECYT, is in charge of presenting an annual proposal of possible topics of interest, to the Board of the Congress of Deputies and to channel relations with the scientific community and society.
The office’s Advisory Council has representatives appointed by the Higher Council for Scientific Research (CSIC), the Carlos III Health Institute, the Center for Energy, Environmental and Technological Research, the Canary Islands Institute of Astrophysics, the Centers of Excellence Network Severo Ochoa and María de Maeztu, the Center for Industrial Technological Development (CDTI) and the State Research Agency, among others.
