MADRID, 20 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The wing of the Government made up of the PSOE recalls that most laws are amended during the parliamentary process and does not consider it difficult for the Trans Law to finally go ahead, in the context of the controversy that arose due to the delay in its processing after expanding the socialists the deadline for amendments in Congress.
Socialist government sources acknowledge the existence of voices interested in inciting confrontation and, in parallel, admit an internal debate in the PSOE regarding the legislation, but insist that gender self-determination has never been in question in the socialist ranks .
The main government party wants to improve the section dedicated to partner violence, since it doubts about the comparison of some types of violence to gender violence that occurs against women within a relationship or when they have left it.
The same sources explain that United We Can could address this problem to improve the text. The PSOE wants to give greater legal certainty to the Trans Law because they know that it will end up being appealed by the PP and Vox before the Constitutional Court.
In reference to the former vice president Carmen Calvo, who has been critical of the regulations, they defend that she has always maintained that the Trans Law has nuances that must be corrected to avoid legal misinterpretations that could collide with acquired rights in terms of equality.
