Roemmers denounces that the ventriloquist took his money and did not finish the series he was recording
MADRID, 26 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The judge of the National Court (AN) investigating the ‘Titella case’ has admitted that the partner of the television producer José Luis Moreno, Alejandro Roemmers, who accuses him of swindling him of 35 million euros with a series about Saint Francis of Assisi, person as injured.
In an order this Wednesday, to which Europa Press has had access, the head of the Central Court of Instruction Number 2, Ismael Moreno, agrees to grant the private prosecution to Roemmers, a role that his company Franciscus Productions had been exercising and that now he will play directly.
With that company, as the Argentine businessman already explained, he had “entirely” financed the creation, together with the ventriloquist, of a company in 2018 to carry out a “great international series” on the figure of Saint Francis of Assisi and his historical period.
In his statement before the judge, made in March, Roemmers assured that he was swindled by Moreno in the development of that series, in his opinion “very mediocre”, similar to an afternoon soap opera.
The origin of the alleged scam dates back to 2016. Since he had successfully made the musical ‘Franciscus’ that year, and after taking it to Spain with Moreno in 2018, Roemmers decided to set up a joint venture with the famous ventriloquist — Dreamlight International Productions– “fully financed” by Roemmers through his company, the aforementioned Franciscus Productions.
Roemmers, contrary to what Moreno himself had declared before the judge weeks before, made it clear that the series had not been made, that the chapters were defective and that the script for ‘Glow
The ventriloquist’s Argentine partner denounced that it was in the project they undertook for the filming of ‘Glow and Darkness’ when Moreno appropriated the money he had invested, denouncing that the series would never have been recorded in its entirety.
Roemmers came to correct part of the story devised by Moreno after learning that the producer did not believe in God. As he would have pointed out to the judge, he himself was in charge of “modifying the spiritual part of the series” because, in his opinion, he did not have a high level.
An accusation that Moreno has denied, maintaining that the series is radically advanced, having shot more than 2,000 minutes (1,500 useful, approximately, in 35 chapters of 45 minutes): “These chapters depend on the inclusion of flashbacks and effects special, as Roemmers knows”.
In the opinion of the producer’s defense, the only thing that exists between him and Roemmers is “a plurality of contractual relationships that have been going on over time, already more than four years (partnership contracts, provision of services, sale, etc. .), existing credits and reciprocal debts whose settlement is outside the criminal jurisdiction” and, therefore, to the AN itself.
