MADRID, 28 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Russian gas giant Gazprom has stated that it will not ultimately reduce the supply Moldova receives through Ukraine, after the Moldovan firm, Moldovagaz, has “corrected” alleged contractual violations in terms of payments and deliveries.

Gazprom assured last week that the volume of gas sent through the Sudzha pipeline for transit to Moldova via Ukraine “exceeds the physical volume transmitted at the Ukraine-Moldova border”, which would imply that part of the supply would stay on Ukrainian territory.

This announcement implied a warning about a possible supply cut, but now the Russian company has considered the dispute resolved and, therefore, “has decided not to reduce the gas supply at the Sudzha pumping station for its transit to Moldova “.

“Gazprom has received the funds for the gas intended for Moldovan consumers that has remained on Ukrainian territory,” according to the official note, collected by the TASS agency.

The Ukrainian gas company, for its part, had accused Gazprom of manipulating the facts to justify an alleged cut and denied that it had incurred in any irregularity in terms of pipelines to Moldova.
