MADRID, 24 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Latvian Foreign Minister, Edgars Rinkevics, has warned that Russia has sufficient resources to face a long war, for which he has called on the international community to reinforce its economic and military support for Ukraine. .

For the representative of Latvian diplomacy, it is necessary that Ukraine receives sufficient support to be able to “hibernate” and restore the civil infrastructure destroyed by Russia, even more so when Moscow is waiting for the West to show signs of “fatigue” with respect to to war and thus be able to influence public opinion.

In statements to Latvian public television reported by the newspaper ‘Diena’, Rinkevics valued the unity of the West to support Ukraine, although he regretted that, despite agreeing, for example, on supplying weapons to Ukraine, these Deliveries are generally slow.

Likewise, Rinkevics has alluded to Russia’s complaints about Ukraine’s possible use of radiological weapons, better known as dirty bombs. Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu expressed his concern this weekend to several European counterparts about the possibility that Ukraine could use a “dirty bomb” during the war in the future.

For the Latvian Foreign Minister, the situation in Ukraine has reached such a point that “anything” can be expected from Russia, even more so seeing that the context in the Kherson region seems to be advancing, according to him, in an unfavorable way for the Kremlin interests.
