The number of poisoned students increases after the hospital admission of dozens of them

The president of Iran, Ebrahim Raisi, has affirmed this Sunday that the poisonings suffered by students of several schools in the country, which he considers to be “a plot by the enemies to provoke unrest among the population, are a crime against humanity.

“The new conspiracy of the enemy to create fear in the hearts of students, dear children and their parents is a crime and an act against humanity,” Raisi said in statements collected by the Irna news agency.

Raisi, who has emphasized the need to investigate the cases and provide truthful information, has reiterated that “this action is one more link in the chain of enemy conspiracies, which aims to create inflammation in society and instill fear among minors” .

The cases of poisoning of female students in Iranian schools have increased, after this Sunday dozens of students from the city of Urmía have been admitted to the hospital after recognizing a bitter smell and feeling nauseated and dizzy, according to the newspaper ‘Sharq’.

The people present at the educational center, located in the northwest of the country, have explained that they heard a brief explosion. “Then we felt suffocated (…) They told us that it was nothing serious, but we felt that we were dying,” witnesses explained to the aforementioned outlet.

On the other hand, the vice president of the Ahvaz University of Medical Sciences, in the south of the country, has announced that 770 students have been poisoned in the province of Khuzestan, of which 500 have been discharged after treatment, 200 They are under observation, and the rest have just been admitted.

The first poisonings were reported more than two months ago at a school located in Qom, the capital of the province of the same name, where at least 51 students had to be hospitalized for possible inhalation poisoning. These cases have also been registered in other parts of the country.
