MADRID, 29 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The main suspect in Wednesday’s attack on Iran’s Shah Cheragh mosque in the southeastern city of Shiraz has succumbed to injuries sustained by security forces’ gunfire after the attack.

The office of the governor of Fars province, through his security officer, Ismail Mohibipour, has confirmed the death of the suspect, who had been admitted to hospital in critical condition since then, reports the official Iranian news agency IRNA.

The attack cost the lives of 13 people and left at least 40 wounded, of whom at least 14 are still hospitalized, the security officer of the province, of which Shiraz is the capital, told IRNA.

The Islamic State jihadist organization claimed responsibility for the attack.
