MADRID, 7 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Secretary of Defense of the United States, Lloyd Austin, has assured this Friday in a telephone conversation with his Ukrainian counterpart, Oleksii Reznikov, that he will urge Washington’s allies to deliver additional anti-aircraft defense systems to Ukraine.
“Secretary Austin reiterated his commitment to encourage allies and partners to make additional donations of air defense systems, combat vehicles, and other critical capabilities to support Ukraine in defending its sovereignty and territorial integrity for as long as it takes.” “, read a statement released by the Department of Defense.
In this sense, Lloyd has discussed with Reznikov the US commitment to grant more than 3,000 million dollars (2,800 million euros) in additional security aid.
This defense package would include Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, additional armored vehicles, artillery systems and ammunition, as well as other key capabilities, the Department of Defense has detailed in the letter.
Still, Austin and Reznikov have vowed to remain in “close contact” all while Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, which began on February 24, 2022, continues.
