The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) reported on Monday the arrest of a blogger for allegedly giving information to the Russian authorities about the consequences of the bombing in the Zaporizhia region, for which he could face a twelve-year sentence. jail for a crime of treason.
“Cyber ??specialists from the Security Service exposed another enemy accomplice in the frontline areas in southern Ukraine. It turned out to be a blogger from Zaporizhia who gave the aggressor information about the consequences of Russian missile attacks on the city,” says the SBU report.
Among the recipients of this information would be fellow blogger Anatoli SharĂ, who after being arrested in Spain in May this year is awaiting a decision on his possible extradition to Ukraine.
The Ukrainian authorities maintain that this last arrested blogger created an Internet page in which he published audiovisual materials, such as photographs and videos with his own descriptions of the events. Material that was later collected by Russian services.
The content of this audiovisual material has been considered by the Ukrainian authorities as “destructive” for national interests after it defended Russia’s non-participation in the bombings that have taken place in the Zaporizhia region almost since the beginning of the invasion at the end of February.
Now the detainee faces a prison sentence of up to twelve years for a crime of dissemination of information favorable to Russia, as well as military affairs, according to Ukrainian legislation under martial law.
