The Ukrainian authorities have denounced this Saturday the launch of at least twenty Russian missiles from the Black Sea and the Kursk region against regions in the west of the country, starting with Lviv or Chernivtsi, where the defense systems would have intercepted several of these projectiles. , as well as Volhynia, Rivne or Khmelnitsky.
The new attacks, which have again caused electricity and water supply suspensions in the affected regions, have been denounced by the head of the Ukrainian Presidency office, Andrey Yermak.
“Okay, we will resist. The dream of the Russians to cause trouble in the rear and stop the liberation of Ukraine’s territories is a childish act,” he assured on his Telegram account.
The mayor of the city of Kovel, in the Volyn region, Igor Chaika, has confirmed that the town has been left without main electricity and has become dependent on emergency services. Igor Polishchuk, the mayor of Lutsk in Volhynia, has also reported problems with the power supply.
The city of Khmelnitski, capital of the homonymous region, has also been left without electricity, according to the Ukrainian portal Obozrevatel.
In the kyiv region, a series of blackouts began around 08:30 to stabilize the electricity supply, which will mean a maximum disconnection of four hours throughout this morning, although it could be repeated throughout the day.
Finally, in Lviv, the head of the regional administration, Maksim Kozitski, confirmed that “air defense has come into action”. “There will be details later,” he explained to the population, “but for now, stay in the shelters.”
