MADRID, 8 (EUROPA PRESS)
Ukraine has received this Monday new NASAMS and Aspide air defense systems provided by Spain, the United States and Norway, as announced by the Ukrainian Defense Minister, Oleksii Reznikov.
“Look who’s here! NASAMS and Aspide air defense systems have arrived in Ukraine!” Reznikov said in a message on his Twitter account, adding a photo of the two air defense systems, made in Italy and the United States.
“These weapons will significantly strengthen the Ukrainian Army and make our skies safer. We will continue to shoot down enemy targets that attack us. Thanks to our partners: Norway, Spain and the United States,” said the Ukrainian Defense Minister.
Ukraine has recently called for more provisioning of air defense systems after Russia attacked the country’s critical energy infrastructure with missiles and drones, leaving much of the territory without electricity or with heavy consumption restrictions.
Last Wednesday, Spain sent the Aspide missile aerial system belonging to the Air and Space Army, after the Spanish Government promised to satisfy the needs requested by the Ukrainian Executive.
Likewise, since the beginning of the war on February 24, Russian troops have attacked civilian settlements and residential areas, a reason that has led Ukraine to request an air defense system.
