The President of Ukraine, Volodimir Zelenski, has guaranteed this Monday that those responsible for the attack on a residential building in Dnipro, eastern Ukraine, will be tried by the International Criminal Court (ICC).
“There is no doubt: every person guilty of this war crime will be identified and brought to justice,” said the Ukrainian president, while announcing that the Ukrainian Security Service “has already begun to collect information on the military Russians who prepared and carried out this attack”.
“We will use all available opportunities, both domestic and international, to ensure that all Russian murderers, all those who give and carry out orders for missile terrorism against our people, face legal sentences,” he added, noting that the recent attack on Dnipro , “as well as other similar attacks”, fall under the jurisdiction of the TPI.
In this sense, he has stated that he will ensure that they “comply with their punishment”, since it is “a fundamental task for Ukraine and for our partners”.
Zelensky has also asked the West for heavy weapons in connection with the attack on Dnipro, in turn praising the United Kingdom for having decided to send a military aid package that includes armored vehicles and artillery.
For this reason, the Ukrainian president has indicated that this week “will be even more active” at the diplomatic level, assuring that at the Davos Forum “Ukraine will be heard.”
The Ukrainian authorities reported on Monday that 40 people have already died, including three children, due to the Russian attack carried out over the weekend. In addition, there would be 75 injured people, 14 of them minors; while there would be more than thirty missing persons. The emergency services, in turn, have managed to rescue nearly 40 people, including six minors.
