MADRID, 7 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Ukrainian authorities confirmed on Monday the nationalization of five major arms companies, a decision that the country’s president, Volodimir Zelenski, has justified as a “necessary” step to guarantee the proper functioning of the defense sector.
“Our rejection of the enemy must be as effective and coordinated as possible (…) These steps (the nationalization of companies) are necessary for our State in conditions of war, they are carried out in accordance with the law and will help guarantee the urgent needs of the defense sector,” the president said.
Likewise, Zelensky has insisted that in a context clearly marked by war, it is necessary for the authorities to lead the country’s main forces to free itself from the Russian invasion and support the Army in its mission, Ukrinform reports.
The Government of Ukraine has announced that five of the country’s major arms companies – JSC Motor Sich, PJSC Zaporizhtransformator, PJSC AvtoKrAZ, PJSC Ukrnafta, PJSC “Ukrtatnafta” – have been taken over by the state.
