VALENCIA, 19 Apr. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Department of Innovation, Industry, Commerce and Tourism, through the General Directorate of Innovation, has signed a contract with Adecco Learning Consulting to train nearly 74,000 people in digital skills.
The contract, valid until the second half of 2026, has a budget of 9.1 million euros, of which 82% comes from Next Generation Funds within the framework of the Recovery and Resilience Mechanism (MRR) Program and the rest from funds own of the Generalitat.
The objective of this agreement is to guarantee social inclusion and advance the development of basic skills so that all people can, among other things, communicate, buy, carry out transactions or interact with administrations using technologies with autonomy and sufficiency.
For the Minister of Innovation, Nuria Montes, “reducing the digital divide is one of the great challenges and at the Consell we are working so that no person is left behind in learning new digital skills and abilities.”
In this sense, Nuria Montes has indicated that “emphasis will be placed” on groups at risk of digital exclusion such as older people, people with low incomes, people with a low educational level, as well as those who reside in non-urban areas.
Montes added that “the digital era is changing people’s habits and keeping them informed. This is why access to information reduces inequalities and offers new opportunities to people.”
The training planning encompasses 542 municipalities of the Valencian Community with face-to-face methodology (between 15 and 20 students) and online and the contents are framed within the Valencian Framework of Digital Competencies.
There are 16 courses planned on different topics, including how to find information on the Internet, the use of mobile phones, how to carry out business from home, the era of social networks or how to detect fake news.
All course and registration information is available on this website.
