Mapfre has hired Juan Bernal, from CaixaBank Asset Management, to be its new corporate investment director. The appointment will be effective on May 1, as reported by the insurer in a statement.
Bernal has more than 25 years of experience in the financial markets. He has been responsible for asset management, private banking and personal banking in different Spanish financial institutions.
He began his career at Banco Santander Central Hispano and since 2012 he worked at CaixaBank. Until now he held, among other positions, the position of general director of CaixaBank AM.
Graduate in Business Sciences from the EU Business School and Executive MBA from the University of Alcalá de Henares and the Mapfre Estudios Foundation and, since 2019, he has been president of SpainNAB, an association that leads impact investment in Spain, as well as a member of the Global Steering Group for Impact Investing (GSG).
Today, CaixaBank AM announced the appointment of Ana Martín de Santa Olalla as general director, replacing Bernal. Until now, she held the position of deputy general director, a position that Jorge Colomer will assume, which he will combine with the position he already has as deputy director of investments in the bank’s management company.
