Grossi emphasizes that these infrastructures “should never be a target” in the event of conflict

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) stated this Friday that “there is no damage” to Iran’s nuclear facilities as a result of the drone attack supposedly launched in recent hours by Israel and recalled that these infrastructures “should never be an objective” in a conflict.

“The IAEA can confirm that there is no damage to Iran’s nuclear facilities,” the IAEA said on its account on the social network extreme.”

“It reiterates that nuclear facilities should never be a target in a military conflict,” stressed the organization, which has assured that it “closely monitors the situation.”

For their part, Iranian media have also assured that the situation at the nuclear facilities in Isfahan is calm and have stressed that they have not suffered damage, without the authorities having commented for now.

In the last few hours, there has been an attack with small drones against Isfahan, blamed on Israel, although the Iranian authorities have stated that they have intercepted the devices and that no damage has been reported, amid the rise in tensions in the Middle East.

Official Israeli sources cited by The New York Times have indicated that Israel has been behind the attack, without details on the scale and scope of the attack. Thus, it would be a step by Israel against Iran after the attacks carried out on Saturday by Tehran against Israeli territory in response to the April 1 bombing against its Consulate in the Syrian capital, Damascus, which resulted in the death of seven members of the Revolutionary Guard.
