MADRID, 16 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The president of Iran, Ebrahim Raisi, stated this Tuesday that Tehran will respond “fiercely” to “the slightest action” by Israel against its interests after the attack with drones and missiles launched on Saturday against Israeli territory in retaliation for the recent bombing of the Iranian Consulate in the Syrian capital, Damascus.
“The slightest action against Iran’s interests will have a fierce, widespread and painful response against all those responsible,” Raisi told the emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad al Thani, according to a statement published by the Iranian Presidency through its Web page.
Thus, he has maintained that “against the expectations of all freedom fighters and free nations, and also against the explicit texts of international laws, the United Nations and the Security Council failed to fulfill their minimum legal duties to time to condemn the attack on the Iranian Consulate in Damascus.
Raisi has criticized the “failure” and “inaction” of the international community in the face of the “crimes of the Zionists” in the Gaza Strip and has argued that this situation led Iran “in line with its right to self-defense” , to “design and execute an operation against the bases that carried out evil acts” against Iran, in reference to the aforementioned bombing against the Consulate, which resulted in the death of seven members of the Revolutionary Guard.
