Joao Félix shines in Cádiz and Barça is still alive
A great Chilean goal from the Portuguese gave the three points to Xavi’s team, who remain eight behind Real Madrid before the Clásico
MADRID, 13 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) –
FC Barcelona beat Cádiz CF (0-1) this Saturday thanks to a beautiful goal from Joao Félix to respond to the victory of the LaLiga leader EA Sports, a Real Madrid that had beaten Mallorca shortly before, and remain eight points behind of the head before the Classic.
Xavi Hernández’s men emerged unscathed from the Nuevo Mirandilla, where the locals also had a lot at stake on matchday 31. The Andalusian team will continue to mark the relegation by not finding resources against a Barça that, despite being new in its lineup, was serious and barely conceded behind, sixth consecutive empty goal in the League.
The Barça team extended its good moment, especially with the conviction at the back despite the rotation, not in a Pau Cubarsí who continued to accumulate praise, and without a Robert Lewandowski who was being a clear reference in his team. Joao Félix, Vitor Roque and Ferran Torres were the offensive option and the Portuguese lit the way with a great overhead kick goal shortly before half-time.
Barça did well with the play of dosing thinking about the second leg of the Champions League quarterfinals against Paris Saint-Germain and, next Sunday, the visit to the Santiago Bernabéu where their last card could be to give excitement to the League. Félix, who asked to be one of the regulars, caught a ball from a corner kick in an acrobatic way to make it 0-1 in the first culé.
Before the break, Chust saved Fermín’s 0-2 scoreline between the sticks. With the advantage, Barça was comfortable, although Cádiz tried to stretch the match time. Juanmi scored clearly offside and Chust tried his luck with a header that went wide. The culé team lost possession and, in its most delicate moment, Joao Félix reappeared with good chances to score.
Ter Stegen had to appear against Samassekou, who was closest in the reaction that Mauricio Pellegrino sought but, with the changes, the entry of Pedri, Raphinha and Yamal, Barça finished whole and without suffering to once again be eight points behind Madrid , with batteries charged and confidence intact in fighting until the end.
