In his letter, he requests that Sánchez be disqualified “between 5 and 10 years” for not abstaining from the rescue of Air Europa

MADRID, 14 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) –

This Thursday, the PP presented its complaint against the Chief Executive, Pedro Sánchez, for his wife’s “links” with Air Europa and has assured that it expects the Conflict of Interest Office to act “with criteria of independence and objectivity, although depends on a Ministry”, in this case the Ministry for Digital Transformation and Public Service, according to ‘popular’ sources.

In its letter, which it has registered electronically, the PP requests that the President of the Government be disqualified “between 5 and 10 years” for “not abstaining” from the rescue of Air Europa, a company that, according to the PP, “had ties of an economic and professional nature with his wife, Begoña Gómez”.

The ‘popular’ want the Office of Conflicts of Interest to determine the responsibility of the President of the Government in the event that he had not been absent or inhibited from the Councils of Ministers of November 3, 2020 and March 16, 2021 that they took favorable decisions to a company that had such relationships with his wife.

The PP has indicated that this complaint comes after “the fruitless requests for explanations” to the President of the Government from whom, according to the party, they have only obtained “his silence” and “his attempts to muddy political life.” “If he does not want to be accountable to the Spanish, he will have to do so before the Administration,” they added.

In the event that it is proven that the President of the Government was not absent or did not inhibit himself from these Councils of Ministers, the PP says that they would be facing a serious infraction” typified in Law 3/2015 regulating the exercise of the high position of the General Administration of the State with a sanction of inability to hold a position of high office for a period of between five and ten years”.

In the complaint, the PP also requests from the Tax Agency, the Social Security management bodies and the public employment services the information available to determine the nature of the legal relationship that existed between the Business Institute and Begoña Gómez. , as well as the remuneration received by the president’s wife.

Likewise, the PP requests to transfer to the Prosecutor’s Office, in the event that there are indications that criminal liability may have been incurred, of the documentation in its possession “given the connection of any of the companies mentioned in the facts” of the document. .

The PP trusts that the Conflict of Interest Office “acts with criteria of independence and objectivity, even though it depends on a Ministry,” according to party sources after registering its complaint.

“We also hope that this Office is not guided by the same protectionist and sectarian attitudes in favor of the Government as the one that, unfortunately, already prevails in the CIS of Tezanos or in the State Attorney General’s Office, to cite just two examples” , they have added the same sources.
