AVILÉS/OVIEDO, Mar. 2 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The general secretary of the FSA-PSOE and president of the Principality, Adrián Barbón, has blamed the company Talgo this Saturday for the delay in the delivery of the Avril trains for the Asturias-Madrid line and has announced that both he and the counselor Alejandro Calvo They will demand explanations and compensation from the Ministry of Transport.
“Asturias is tired of delays and so am I,” he said during his speech at the closing of the ‘Asturias of innovation’ conference organized by the FSA-PSOE in Avilés, in the presence of the mayor, Mariví Monteserín.
Barbón, who has opted to recognize Avilés as “the innovation capital of Asturias”, has taken advantage of the event to address current events, focusing on the delay in the arrival of the trains to Avril.
The socialist leader wanted to clarify that Minister Óscar Puente gave March 31 as the scheduled date “day up, day down”, while pointing out that “these delays cannot be attributed to a ministerial team that has been in office for very few years. months”. “We must also be fair, because this ministerial team has been in place since the end of November,” he asked.
However, he emphasizes that in successive governments this Ministry has not met “the expectations” for Asturias. “When dates are given and when deadlines are given, many times we feel bad, we feel disappointed,” he laments, reproaching that “what is said is not fulfilled.”
Thus, he has announced that the Minister of Public Works, Alejandro Calvo, has demanded a meeting next week to clarify with the Ministry what has happened and how long the delay will be.
“We are going to demand explanations, knowing that here the responsibility lies with a company, Talgo, that has failed to comply with all the time frames,” he argued, urging to “also focus and put the responsibility on whoever has it: the company that is not complying.” with the signed contracts”.
According to Barbón, the Asturian government is going to be “clear” and “outright” in its demands to confirm when the Avril trains will arrive and that “the appropriate compensations be established.”
