The Secretary of Organization of the PSOE, Santos Cerdán, declared this Tuesday morning “waiting” for a statement from former minister José Luis Ábalos to find out what he intends to do with the seat after the ‘Koldo case’ broke out involving a assistant in a scheme to collect commissions for anti-covid material contracts.
This Monday, the PSOE gave Ábalos a period of 24 hours to resign from his seat and, in the afternoon, the former minister left his position as president of the Interior Commission for which the Socialist Group proposed him, but continued with his minutes.
When the deadline for the ultimatum expired, both at the beginning and at the end of the weekly meeting of the Socialist Group of Congress, Santos Cerdán was asked about the situation of Ábalos, but he said he had no answer and referred to a statement that the former minister gave him. had announced that it was going to go public.
According to Cadena SER, Ábalos has decided not to resign and has preferred to join the Mixed Group of Congress, but the PSOE is still waiting for the statement.
