Nebulossa has won the third edition of the Benidorm Fest and will represent Spain at Eurovision 2024 with her song ‘Zorra’, which has obtained 156 points.

In second position is St. Pedro, with 139 points, followed by Angy Fernández, with 128. The classification is completed by Jorge González with ‘Caliente’, Almácor with ‘Brillos Platino’, María Peláe with ‘Remitente’, Sofía Coll with ‘Here to Stay’ and the red lantern has gone to Miss Caffeina, with her song ‘Bla, Bla, Bla’.

The third edition of the Benidorm Fest has come to an end with a gala hosted by Ruth Lorenzo, Marc Calderó and Ana Prada in which eight finalists participated, coming from the two semi-finals that took place this week.

As in Thursday’s semifinal, María Peláe was in charge of opening the proceedings with her song ‘Remitente’. Accompanied by four dancers who represent scenes such as shootings and bombings, twelve crosses also appear on stage that represent twelve of the shot socialist militants, Peláe ends the performance by opening her arms to become the thirteenth.

The colors disappear from the stage for the performance of st. Pedro. The canary comes with the bolero ‘Dos Extraños’, with an elegant staging in which he goes on stage surrounded by the shadows of four dancers with which he tells this story of heartbreak. A single spotlight illuminates the singer, who comes out with a rose in his hand.

‘I know who I am’, shouts Angy Fernández in her performance, in which she appears accompanied by two giant walls and several dancers and guitarists. A very theatrical performance in which the singer returns to the pop rock that made her known in the mid-2000s. Protagonist of one of the most memorable moments of this edition, in the midst of a rush of guitars, spotlights and music, Angy and her two dancers They embrace excitedly on stage in a gesture that represents acceptance and overcoming fears.

The dancers who accompany Jorge González are also the protagonists of his performance, who puts on a number full of dance for his ‘Caliente’. Lots of fire, posing and powerful choreography make up the fourth performance of the night, which begins with the smoke and heat of a sauna. In his third attempt to go to Eurovision, the singer appears in black with his torso exposed and painted with black flowers.

Nebulossa, the revelation of the edition, has relied on a stage design with reds and gold to perform its song ‘Zorra’. Mery Bas sang on top of a circular sofa accompanied by two dancers, who ended up taking off most of their clothes at the end. Asked about the choice of this staging, the members of the Alicante band explained that they want their message “not only for women”, but for all those people who have felt this way.

The most Eurovision performance of the night was brought by Sofia Coll, with her song made expressly for the festival ‘Here To Stay’. Headdress, giant stairs, some pieces of props in the background and a lot of dancing in this staging in which she is accompanied by five dancers. In a set design inspired by surrealism, Coll incorporates elements in her costume that are reminiscent of Dalí’s work.

Alberto Jiménez, the singer of Miss Caffeina, begins from the heights for his ‘Bla Bla Bla’. From a cube in which there were also several dancers, he has starred in a performance very focused on body expression and interpretive dance. A giant cube, stairs on the sides and a lot of camera work and close-up shots elevate this staging.

And finally, Almácor, with a performance that exudes charisma full of special effects and pyrotechnics that were programmed but that due to a technical failure could not be displayed, as well as the final crown of fires that had been prepared for the performance and that did not work. . Attendees have asked, amid shouts and boos, for a repeat of the performance, although in the end this has not happened.

The one from Villena exalts his personality with a display of energy in which his connection with the camera is used very well. The use of artificial intelligence in staging is a novelty at Benidorm Fest. Thus, effects appear around him and the singer’s jacket transforms in several moments.
