MADRID, 13 May. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Government will bring to the Council of Ministers this Tuesday the royal decree by which it will extend the suspension of mortgage evictions for debtors until 2028, as confirmed by Executive sources to Europa Press.
Under current legislation, the suspension of mortgage evictions ends on May 15. As agreed by the Ministry of Housing with Sumar, Podemos and Bildu, the Council of Ministers will approve this measure tomorrow, so that at the time they will vote in favor of the validation of the anti-crisis decree.
Podemos has been negotiating for weeks for the Government to assume its commitment and extend the suspension for four more years. The purple formation has stressed the importance of this measure being approved, since failure to extend the suspension would mean “a very serious loss of confidence.”
“The Government committed to Podemos to extend this moratorium and after some warnings they have told us that it seems that they are going to keep their word and we hope that this will be the case,” commented the Institutional Action Secretariat of Podemos and co-spokesperson of Podemos at a press conference. the training, María Teresa Pérez.
