Those around the Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny have reported this Monday that they have not known his whereabouts for six days, since his lawyers have not been able to locate him in prison and he has not appeared at a court hearing scheduled for this Monday.
“It is the sixth day in which we do not know where Alexei is and what is happening to him,” warned his spokesperson, Kira Yarmish, on her X social network account, where she explained that the lawyers have traveled to two prisons where They have been notified that they do not know of their presence.
Navalny usually appears electronically in the various judicial fronts that he has open and this Monday he was scheduled to participate in a hearing in which his complaints about his treatment in prison will be examined. However, he has not participated either, which has aggravated the fear of those around him.
According to Yarmish, prison staff have cited technical problems to justify the latest failure to appear, but the spokesperson has once again expressed her fear that Navalni’s health has worsened.
