MADRID, 15 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Italian team Ferrari has denied this Tuesday the rumors about a future departure of the team leader, Mattia Binotto, after some information that, according to the team, “is totally unfounded”.
“In relation to the speculations of certain media about the position of the team boss of the Ferrari team, Mattia Binotto, Ferrari affirms that these rumors are totally unfounded,” said the Italian factory in a brief statement shared on the social network Twitter.
This same Tuesday, the Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport stated that Binotto, much criticized this season, would no longer be the boss of the historic team next year, making way for Frenchman Frederic Vasseur, Alfa Romeo’s ‘main team’. The publication assured that the change would take place from next January. “Vasseur was already sounded out last summer by the president of Ferrari, John Elkann, when they were evaluating an alternative to Binotto from Maranello,” reported the transalpine media.
Binotto joined Ferrari in 1995, being part of the team that achieved great success in the 2000s. Since 2019 he has held the position of team manager, replacing Maurizio Arrivabene.
