MADRID, 11 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, has insisted this Friday on denouncing public officials who cover up femicides, all after it became known that a prosecutor was related to the alleged author of the death of Ariadna Fernanda.
After the confrontation between the Mexico City Prosecutor’s Office and the Morelos Prosecutor’s Office, the Mexican president has maintained that the authorities involved in the alleged links of prosecutor Uriel Carmona in a “cover-up case” should be denounced, all this after the complaint by the head of the Government of Mexico City, Claudia Sheinbaum, has reported ‘El Sol de México’.
Asked if the governments of Morena, his party, should denounce as Sheinbaum did, the Mexican president has answered affirmatively, detailing that “yes, it has to be denounced and that there is no impunity, that whoever is is punished and must intervene “.
“There are suspicions of complicity. Of course, punishing those responsible and zero impunity is that this is the worst thing there can be, that there is no division, separation between alleged criminals and authorities or that there is protection, that things are hidden , who wants to protect criminals,” López Obrador has recriminated.
For López Obrador, the murder of the 27-year-old must be clarified “as soon as possible”, although he has shown his confidence that results will soon be given.
Ariadna Fernanda, who lived in Mexico City, disappeared on October 30 after meeting with a group of friends in the Condesa neighborhood of the capital. Two days later, cyclists found her body on a highway in the neighboring state of Morelos.
The Mexican authorities assure that the suspect and his partner, Vanessa, have alleged links with the staff of the Morelos Prosecutor’s Office in a “cover-up case” by the Morelos prosecutor, Uriel Carmona Gándara.
