MADRID, 10 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish tennis player Rafa Nadal will share the Green Group of the ATP Finals along with the Norwegian Casper Ruud, the Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime and the American Taylor Fritz, after the draw held this Thursday and in which he avoided the Serbian Novak Djokovic.

The one from Manacor, who faces the last round of the year with little filming in the last two months, avoided the one from Belgrade, five times champion of what is known as the Masters Cup. The tournament that brings together the best eight of the ATP season will be held from November 13 to 20 at the Pala Alpitour in Turin (Italy).

Nadal will debut on Sunday at 9:00 p.m. against Fritz, who beat him this 2022 on the Indian Wells hard court, with the Spaniard with a broken rib. That was one of the several physical obstacles in the great season of an Australian Open and Roland Garros champion Nadal among his four titles this year.

The man from Manacor, number two in the world, remained as the first seed in Turin due to the resignation of his compatriot Carlos Alcaraz, who was injured in the recent Masters 1,000 in Paris-Bercy. Nadal will seek to be a ‘Master’ for the first time, although in the last two months, in which he was a father for the first time, he only played his debut with a defeat in Paris-Bercy, beyond the farewell of and with Roger Federer in the Laver Cup.

Djokovic will seek to make history at the Pala Alpitour, matching the Swiss Federer’s record of six crowns, starting from a Red Group that he shares with the Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas, the Russian Daniil Medvedev and the Russian Andrey Rublev.

The Spanish representation in the masters event will also be in charge of Marcel Granollers, who will participate in the doubles tournament together with the Argentine Horacio Zeballos, a tournament that the Catalan already won together with his compatriot Marc López in 2012.
