MADRID, 29 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Brazilian politician for the Workers’ Party (PT) known as ‘Zezinho’ has been assassinated this Friday in the municipality of Jandira, in the state of Sao Paulo, where an armed person has shot him from inside a vehicle very close from your house.

Reginaldo Camilo dos Santos, 51, had run as a federal deputy in the elections on October 2, where he received nearly 9,000 votes but was ultimately not elected. In 2020 he was a candidate for mayor of Jandira, occupying third place after the elections, for which he served as councilor.

In the last week, several images had been published on social networks in which he appears campaigning for Fernando Haddad of the PT, a candidate for governor, and Luiz InĂ¡cio Lula da Silva, a candidate for the presidency of Brazil, according to ‘O Globo’.

For the moment, the Metropolitan Civil Guard has stated that the motive for the crime is unknown, although the elected federal deputy Jilmar Tatto (PT) has stated that the first information points to a hate crime, although the case must be analyzed carefully.

“Witnesses have reported that a person passed shouting Bolsonaro, he (Zezinho) shouted Lula and the person took out his weapon and fired three shots. Everything indicates that it was the action of a Bolsonarist within this climate of intolerance that exists in the country. “, he pointed out, according to the same newspaper.

This event occurs just two days before what have been described as the most polarized elections in the country in the last two decades, which has led to violent incidents that have claimed a life, as on this occasion.
