MADRID, 27 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) confirmed this Thursday that the next edition of the Spanish Super Cup will be played again in the capital of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh, from January 11 to 15, 2023.
The King Fahd Stadium in Riyadh, with a capacity for more than 60,000 spectators, will once again host the tournament where Real Madrid, who defends the title, FC Barcelona, ??Real Betis and Valencia will meet.
The semifinals will be played on January 11 and 12, while the final will be on Sunday 15. According to the regulations and competition rules of the RFEF tournaments, Betis, champion of the Copa del Rey and newcomer, will face to FC Barcelona, ??runner-up in LaLiga Santander, while Real Madrid, league champion, will do so against Valencia, cup finalist. “The order of these meetings will be communicated shortly,” said the RFEF.
This will be the third time that Saudi Arabia hosts the renewed Spanish Super Cup since in addition to doing so this year, it also did so for the first time in 2020, then in the city of Jeddah. The pandemic forced it to be held in Andalusia in 2021, with the semifinals in Córdoba and Málaga, and the final in La Cartuja de Sevilla.
