Chipiona will have a luxury glamping site located on the beachfront, on the Costa de la Grajuela, located between Chipiona and Sanlúcar de Barrameda. The project has just been accepted for processing by the Chipiona City Council
Chipiona (Cádiz), April 26, 2024.- Urban planning management of the Chipiona City Council has just accepted for processing the initiative promoted by Altanea, the company that owns the land, whose objective with the creation of this glamping site is to offer accommodation linked to the nature and attract tourists looking for accommodations more connected to the natural environment.
The place is conceived as a sustainable environment that combines the comfort and services of hotels with immersion in nature and the experience of camping or caravanning.
The complex is made up of several different accommodation areas, independent and connected to each other. There will be an area of ??designer mobile homes for those looking to feel at home, another area made up of Safari-type tents, for those looking for a different experience without giving up comfort, and a motorhome area for the most nomadic.
In its more than 50,000 m2 area, in addition to the accommodation, it will have sports and children’s facilities, swimming pools, minimarket, parking and restaurant areas.
A fantastic beach-club with direct access to the beach is the exclusive jewel of this project. With a high-end restaurant whose terrace looks directly at the sea, a swimming pool surrounded by Balinese beds and a large chill-out area on the beach where ambient DJ sessions will liven up the day and accompany the incredible sunsets over the Cádiz sea.
Sustainable character
The proposed glamping is a revolution from the point of view of energy saving, recycling and sustainability. A unique tourist complex, with zero CO2 generation, with energy self-consumption and water reuse, at the forefront of the requirements of the European AGENDA 2030.
The implementation will be carried out with minimal intervention on the land, without constructing any type of building, all of which will be prefabricated with recycled and recyclable materials, transported and placed without the need to make any type of surface foundation.
Most of the current vegetation will be preserved, avoiding its felling, and trees will be significantly increased throughout the intervention with native species.
Photovoltaic panels will be installed that, together with storage batteries, will serve all the demands of the tourist complex, both energy and hot water.
Transportation within the complex will be carried out with electric buggy-type vehicles that will be recharged with solar energy, avoiding circulation with combustion vehicles as much as possible.
A gray water reuse system will be installed to cover the irrigation demand of the green areas.
Integration with other economic sectors
The situation of this glamping and the services it will provide will be a driving focus of the area’s economy, since various activities will be carried out that will require services and goods from the environment.
Users of this type of establishment demand natural activities, such as horseback riding, bicycle routes or activities related to the sea. Likewise, local products typical of the region they visit are sought, which activates local commerce. All this generates an activity that creates multiple synergies with artisans and merchants in the area.
There will be an increase in direct and indirect jobs and an evident improvement in commerce in the area. The use of local products will be prioritized both for the minimarket and for restaurant services.
Camping Need
The province of Cádiz has several campsites distributed throughout its territory. Cádiz has experienced a slight increase in the demand for tourist accommodation, this being somewhat lower in the existing campsites, as they are few and of average quality, overnight stays in campsites in Cádiz occur almost all year round and more than 50% belong to foreign tourists.
Therefore, the idea arises from the increase in demand for natural and sustainable tourism, where you can enjoy a high level of comfort in a quiet environment, surrounded by vegetation and nature and where you can have activities that help both physical and mental well-being. .
Reactivation is one of the objectives of the European 2030 Agenda, which is committed to promoting the development of rural areas, as well as the conservation and preservation of Nature.
Legal framework
The project presented is located on properties classified as rural land in accordance with the current PGOU of Chipiona, to whose municipality the lands of this project belong. In these areas, facilities linked to recreational and naturalistic activities, actions of public interest, and those intended for hotel accommodation and restaurants are permitted. It is therefore necessary, prior to the execution of the facilities, to process the authorization request with the Action Project that is now presented.
In this specific case it is considered that, “due to the circumstances that arise, it must be declared of public utility and social interest for generating positive and lasting effects on the local economy and employment and for contributing to diversifying the local economy of a sustainable way based on the green and circular economy”.
