MADRID, 9 May. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The president of the Catalan Generalitat and ERC candidate for the Catalan elections, Pere Aragonès, has warned that “an incoherent agreement” in the Catalan Parliament would imply “many difficulties” in the currently existing collaboration between ERC and the central government.

“If there were an incoherent agreement in the Parliament of Catalonia it would add many difficulties to the collaboration that exists in the Congress of Deputies,” Aragonès expressed in an interview with TVE collected by Europa Press, adding on the other hand that “it is not the scenario that he sees as likely” since he considers that he will repeat the presidency.

He has also indicated that if the negotiations and pacts currently open with the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, progress, ERC “may propose” new agreements with the PSOE, but that to do so “it is evident that the entire political scenario has to be coherent.”

Asked who his priority partner is, the president of the Generalitat indicated that it is “the people of Catalonia”, and specified: “We are going to form alliances starting May 12 to obtain enough support for me to return.” to be invested as president of the Generalitat of Catalonia, not on the basis of labels but on the basis of proposals”.

In this way, Aragonès has detailed that his three main axes in the agreements with the Government are the amnesty, opening a negotiation for the financing of Catalonia, as well as the acquisition of more powers such as the reduction of the debt of the Autonomous Liquidity Fund (FLA). ), the transfer of commuter trains in Catalonia or contributions in the field of science and innovation.
