MADRID, 6 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –
FC Barcelona ratified its lead in the Finetwork Liga F 2022-2023 after thrashing Real Madrid 0-4 with authority, which it blurred and fully neutralized at the Alfredo Di Stéfano Stadium to move it away from a lead, whose main pursuer is now Madrid CFF, winner in Zubieta against Real Sociedad (0-2), after the dispute of the eighth day of the championship.
There was a lot of expectation to see the first duel between the Blaugrana team and the Real Madrid team, but there was hardly any history in a match where the current champion dominated from start to finish and barely passed the difficulties that could be foreseen due to the rise in level of his rival.
But Alberto Toril’s team could never get the pulse of the match. His defensive firmness, which had stood out so much at the start of the season, did not make an appearance and only goalkeeper Misa Rodríguez prevented Di Stéfano’s scoreboard from registering an even more painful result.
Barça knew from minute one what was at stake and came out with great intensity. In addition, knowing what victory could mean, he always sought it hard and never relaxed, ending up somewhat unhinging a Real Madrid team where their midfield was overwhelmed and where the trio formed by Caroline Weir, Athenea del Castillo and Esther González had no incidence.
The first quarter of an hour was already a glimpse of what the match was going to be. Jonatan Giráldez’s team completely dismantled the locals, with a Geyse Ferreira who did a lot of damage. After four minutes and after having launched two very serious warnings, Ana Crnogorcevic put the visitors ahead with a header and from then on everything was easier to finish off the undefeated madridista in the season and in their stadium for almost a year, just since the last league visit culé.
The Madrid team could never take control or worry Sandra Paños, except with a weak shot from Esther González in a good position to have done more damage. At least, he did lower the intensity to play at a more convenient pace, but before the break, he conceded the 0-2 through Patri Guijarro after a corner kick.
Going through changing rooms did not improve Real Madrid, where Toril tried with the entry of Olga Carmona and Nahikari García, without much success because Aitana Bonmatí left the duel almost to sentence with the 0-3 a few minutes after the restart.
Real Madrid tried to get into the match, but, somewhat nervously, they never managed to do so against a Barça that was much superior in all facets, especially physically, and could only come close to scoring with a shot at the post by Claudia Zornoza. Misa Rodríguez managed to stop the visitors’ attacks against a somewhat weak defense that could not avoid the 0-4, the work of Fridolina Rolfö in a carom and after the umpteenth great intervention by the Canarian goalkeeper.
The Madrid team is now eight points behind, with one game in hand, a Catalan team that leads with full points and that now has Madrid CFF as its pursuer, which also finished off another of the undefeated, Real Sociedad, to the which he defeated in Zubieta by 0-2 with goals from Racheal Kundananji.
Atlético de Madrid and Levante UD also top Real Madrid in the table after their wins against bottom side Alhama CF and Sporting de Huelva, respectively. A solitary goal from Ludmila da Silva gave the rojiblancas three important points, while the ‘granotas’ signed a more placid 3-0 victory with a brace from Natasa Andonova and another from Alba Redondo.
In addition, Valencia put an end to its good run of five games without losing by losing 1-2 against an improved Athletic Club, which moves away from the lower zone with its second consecutive win. Clara Pineda and Paula Arana scored for the ‘Leonas’ and Anna Torrodà discounted for the Valencianistas.
Sevilla returned to the path of victory with a convincing ‘little hand’ to Levante Las Planas with goals from Débora García, Amanda Sampedro, Jessica Martínez, Cristina Martín-Prieto and, in own goal, Yasmin Mrabet, while Betis also took air by beating Villarreal 0-3 with goals from Natalia Montilla (2) and Ángela Sosa. Finally, UDG Granadilla and Deportivo Alavés tied at one with goals from Paola Hernández for the locals and Sara Carrillo for the visitors.
