MADRID, 10 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The England coach, Gareth Southgate, has announced this Thursday the list of the ‘Three Lions’ for the Qatar World Cup, with the presence of James Maddison or Conor Gallagher as surprises, with Jude Bellingham as an emerging star to follow and all under the captaincy of Harry Kane.

England comes with a block similar to that of the last European Championship but with young people with a lot of projection in whom Southgate already trusts. A compensated squad, with a lot of quality and speed up front and, perhaps, with the defense as its weakest point.

At the back, the presence of veteran Manchester United central defender Harry Maguire stands out, despite his irregularity and poor start to the season for the ‘Red Devils’. Of course, the ownership in the axis may be for John Stones and Eric Dier, with Ben White on the prowl. And, in goal, the pulse will be between Jordan Pickford and Aaron Ramsdale.

From the center of the field the good begins. In midfield, Jude Bellingham ensures both the ball out and the shot from the second line. It is the great hope among young people. At his side, Mason Mount, Phil Foden (unless he plays ‘false 9’) or Declan Rice ensure strength and creation at the same time. And, at the ends, a James Maddison who is strong at Leicester, along with the Sterling, Saka or Grealish.

Harry Kane will undoubtedly be England’s offensive reference. But the captain will not be alone, as Marcus Rashford or Callum Wilson, a Newcastle striker who is one of Southgate’s great novelties, will accompany him.

In this list of 26 players there are surprises, such as the absence by technical decision of Jadon Sancho (Manchester United), Tammy Abraham (AS Roma) or Joe Gomez (Liverpool), while Ben Chilwell and Reece James will not go to Qatar due to injury (Chelsea).
