CRISTINA ISLAND (HUELVA), April 20. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Civil Guard has arrested eleven people as alleged perpetrators of an alleged crime related to prostitution and sexual exploitation, money laundering, membership in a criminal group and sexual assault of a minor in the municipality of Isla Cristina (Huelva).

The so-called Operation ‘Irina’ is part of the actions of the Civil Guard against trafficking in human beings for sexual exploitation. Specifically, the operation began in June 2023 when the possible sexual exploitation of a minor under 15 years of age was detected, for at least six months, as reported by the Civil Guard in a note.

With the authorization of the Investigative Court number three of Ayamonte and the Huelva Prosecutor’s Office, the entry and home search was carried out, and the agents managed to release the minor. During the search, various high-end mobile devices, a personal computer, different bank cards and documents, among others, were seized. Likewise, two vehicles have been seized and fourteen bank accounts have been blocked.

Among the eleven people arrested, in addition to the members of the criminal group, are those clients who would have consumed the minor’s sexual services. The Civil Guard has indicated that the investigation is still ongoing and does not rule out future arrests or the location of more victims, which currently number five including the minor.

The detainees and the proceedings carried out have been placed at the disposal of the Judicial Authority. The Operation has been carried out by the Team against Trafficking in Human Beings (TSH) of the Crimes against Persons Area of ??the Organic Unit of the Judicial Police (UOPJ) of the Civil Guard of Huelva.
