MADRID, 20 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, has offered himself to the Spanish people as “the only alternative for constitutional Spain” because, as he has warned, what is “at stake” in Spain “is not the mere alternation of one government or another “but “the continuity of the constitutional project.” That said, he has warned Pedro Sánchez’s PSOE that if he sought with the Galicians a “plebiscite” on his leadership, he has already seen the result after Alfonso Rueda’s comfortable absolute majority.

“If they wanted the Galician elections to be a plebiscite on my leadership, there they have the result of the plebiscite. If they wanted Galicia to validate their model, there they have the resounding failure of the Sanchista model,” Feijóo proclaimed in his speech at the National Executive Committee of the PP, where he has been received with applause in his ‘paseillo’ alongside Alfonso Rueda.

Feijóo has pointed out that Rueda’s “victory” in Galicia is a “victory for Spain” and that there is “a better way of doing politics” that is “within reach.” Furthermore, he has denounced that the left now “trusts its luck” to saying that the PP is like them when that argument has “crashed” in the Galician campaign.

“The great hope of the independence movement, that is, Mr. Sánchez, intends to convince the Spaniards that I am going to accompany him in his drift,” he stated, adding that he is “repugnated” that the “only principle” of the president of the Government is to “stay in power” and do “whatever it takes to preserve it.” “I will never be like Mr. Sánchez and I refer to the facts,” he added.

After ensuring that the Galicians have punished “the lies” and “division” of Sánchez’s PSOE, Feijóo has established the PP as “the only alternative for constitutional Spain.” “Spanish people must know that, if the PSOE has become synonymous with concern, the PP is synonymous with hope,” he said.
