MADRID, 11 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Microsoft has momentarily surpassed Apple as the company with the largest market capitalization in the world, although the ‘apple company’ has subsequently regained its leadership, according to data collected by ‘Bloomberg’.

The ‘surprise’ has been possible after the shares of the Redmond company grew by nearly 1% at the opening of the stock market this Thursday, which took its value to 2.87 billion dollars (2.619 billion euros) , ahead of Apple, which had just seen its shares fall by 1%.

However, by noon, local time in New York, Apple turned the situation around and regained a throne that the company founded by Bill Gates has been disputing lately due to the stock market ‘rally’ unleashed by the possibilities offered by the Generative artificial intelligence (AI).

It is not the first time that Microsoft overtakes Apple, since, for example, it already did so during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020 and 2021 with the ‘boom’ of teleworking, a moment that coincided with the difficulties of signing the iPhone to produce phones given the disruptions in supply chains.
