VALENCIA, 16 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Pirotecnia Valenciana has prepared an “impressive” show to shoot this coming Sunday, February 18 in Madrid, a ‘mascletà’ that will have “very attractive” color effects, with “winks” to both this city and Valencia, and that will play with different rhythms so that the entire audience can enjoy this event with gunpowder on the Puente del Rey, in Madrid Río.
The ‘mascletà’ will have, in total, 307 kilos of pyrotechnic material and will last approximately seven minutes, as explained to Europa Press by one of the people in charge of Pirotecnia Valenciana, Manolo Crespo, who has promised a shot at the height to “demonstrate –in Madrid– what the Fallas” of Valencia are.
The company has been preparing for a month at its facilities in Llanera de Ranes (Valencia) the material that will be displayed this Sunday in Madrid, at 1:00 p.m., with the classic orange color of Pirotecnia Valenciana. The show will “more or less” follow the structure of the Fallas ‘mascletaes’ that are fired in the Valencia City Hall square, baptized as the ‘gunpowder cathedral’.
Thus, the shot will have a “classic” central terrestrial structure, although the company has opted for a somewhat “more attractive” principle, playing with different rhythms and taking advantage of the “quite large” space of the location chosen to shoot the ‘ mascletà’, in the area of ??Madrid Río.
As Crespo detailed, it will also have “very attractive” colors and effects so that the public can “enjoy the show even more.” In addition, he has announced that Pirotecnia Valenciana has prepared special “winks” towards the cities of Madrid and Valencia with color effects.
Regarding the last part of the shot, Pirotecnia Valenciana has prepared a “classic” final earthquake to surprise and “break” the public, especially those from Madrid who are not used to experiencing a ‘mascletà’ live. In total, the shot will take approximately seven minutes.
At the same time, Crespo has recognized the “pride” that Pirotecnia Valenciana takes to bring the ‘mascletà’ to Madrid, since it also means “representing the entire pyrotechnic sector and the Fallas world” to “demonstrate to the capital what the Fallas are.” .
In this sense, he has called on Valencians and Falleros to attend to enjoy this event in Madrid, which he has guaranteed will be “a great and impressive” ‘mascletà’ due to the novelty of being held in the capital of Spain. “In few places could it be seen, only on a day of San José (March 19) in Valencia,” she noted.
Furthermore, he has promised the people of Madrid who come to witness the shooting that they will be able to see a “pleasant” spectacle, as well as “totally Valencian, very much from our land.” Along these lines, he has expressed his desire that Madrid can enjoy more gunpowder shows “later on.”
Regarding the political debate that has arisen in recent hours as a result of complaints from animal and environmental groups and criticism from the opposition in the Madrid City Council against the city’s mayor, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, the Valencian pyrotechnician has stressed that the The capital of Spain has “the perfect example of Valencia”, where “nothing has ever happened” with the usual firing of ‘mascletaes’ during the Fallas. “Nothing has to happen” on this occasion, he added.
The firing of the ‘mascletà’ has not been without controversy, after the animal protector Salvando Peludos presented an appeal requesting very precautionary measures to stop the pyrotechnic event due to the damage to the Puente del Rey, a natural space that represents “an environment of renaturation since 2016 and that will cause a massacre among the fauna. Finally, the Contentious-Administrative Judge number 8 of Madrid has allowed the Madrid City Council to celebrate the ‘mascletà’ in this location.
The celebration of this ‘mascletà’ in Madrid was one of the commitments acquired by the first mayor of Valencia, María José Catalá, when she had not yet accepted this position and was the PP candidate for Mayor, and the mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martínez-Almeida. During the past Fallas, both committed to bringing to the Spanish capital this show that is offered every day in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento de València between March 1 and 19 for the celebration of the Fallas festivities.
In recent weeks, officials from the Fire Department, Local Police, Civil Protection, Falleros, technicians and the pyrotechnic company have visited the city of Madrid to prepare for this event with gunpowder in the capital of Spain. Furthermore, firefighters from the Madrid City Council have recently traveled to Valencia to train, with the help of Valencian troops, in the organization and development of the usual operation of a fireworks display.
Next week, Pirotecnia Valenciana will also be in charge of firing the ‘mascletà’ after the ‘Macrodespertà’ on the morning of Sunday, February 25, at around 8:00 a.m., in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento de València, as well as the one at 2:00 p.m. that same day, a day in which, in the afternoon, the ‘Crida’ will take place, the event that kicks off the Fallas festivities.
Already in the ‘big weeks’ of the Fallas, Pirotecnia Valenciana will fire at what is known as the ‘gunpowder cathedral’, the Town Hall square, the fireworks display on Sunday, March 10, at 8:00 p.m., and the ‘ mascletà’ of the penultimate day of Fallas, Monday, March 18, at 2:00 p.m.
In addition, Llanera de Ranes pyrotechnics was recently in charge of opening the shooting calendar in the city last January with a fireworks display in the Alameda prior to the Pyrotechnics Gala – the event where the pyrotechnic programming is revealed. of the Fallas–.
It was because it was the company that closed the calendar last year on March 19, in a habit that aims to become a custom so that from 2024 the pyrotechnic company in charge of firing on Saint Joseph’s Day (March 19) will be the same one that inaugurates the following year’s cycle.
