Vinícius double at the Allianz Arena (2-2), scoring a key penalty in the final stretch

MADRID, 30 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Real Madrid tied (2-2) this Tuesday on their visit to FC Bayern Munich, thanks to a double from Vinícius Jr. that culminated in a penalty scored in the final stretch of the match, corresponding to the first leg of a semi-final in the Champions League that will be resolved on May 8 at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.

At the Allianz Arena, the hosts created danger in just 40 seconds. Their left back, Noussair Mazraoui, reached the three-quarter line and passed to the center for Harry Kane, who first assisted the run of Leroy Sané, who had caught Antonio Rüdiger’s back.

Bayern’s number 10 advanced into the area and hit a low left foot shot that the Madrid goalkeeper, Andriy Lunin, cleared with his left foot. Thomas Tuchel’s pupils tried again with a weak shot from Kane and then with a steal from him in the middle of the field, with an immediate pass for Sané to sprint down the left wing.

His shot, in the 7th minute, went over the crossbar. The same thing happened with a shot by Kane from the central circle, having seen Lunin ahead. Jamal Musiala also had no aim with a subsequent left-footed shot, following a low pass from Thomas Müller from the right side.

Musiala himself missed another shot, this time with his right hand, after the first quarter of an hour. Bayern then stopped, as if they wanted to dose despite the loud push of their fans. And a German, Toni Kroos, appeared to stretch Real Madrid and make it 0-1 in the 24th minute, thanks to an exquisite pass between the lines to uncheck Vinícius.

The Brazilian forward went down a few meters, dragged the center back Kim Min-jae and beat his back with a grab on a tile. Kroos wove his assist at ground level through a gap between several opponents and Vinícius stood as he likes best, in full acceleration, in front of the local goalkeeper. With a low and unremitting right hand, the ‘7’ beat Manuel Neuer. First shot, on goal, goal; usual merengue sequence.

The Munich team remained groggy for quite a while and, although they continued to dominate in ball possession, they did not threaten Lunin until the 42nd minute, when a slalom by Musiala was interrupted by a foul by Nacho Fernández at the top of the area. Kane executed the foul with his right foot, but his mid-range shot went wide.

Just before the break, a similar situation occurred in the other area, after Mazraoui tripped Jude Bellingham at a foul. It was Rodrygo Goes who was in charge of taking that direct free kick, but his right hand rebounded off Kane’s head, off the barrier, and the ball ended up in a corner kick that had no consequences and closed the first half.

The second opened calmly, Raphael Guerreiro having replaced Leon Goretzka, but the first approach on goal was from the white team. Nacho Fernández cut off a pass in the center of the defense and mounted the counterattack with a pass to Vinícius, who turned around to get away from Min-jae until passing the ball to Bellingham.

The English playmaker looked up and saw Kroos arriving from the left wing; Without thinking, the German midfielder hooked a right foot that touched Joshua Kimmich a little, but Neuer was agile to providentially clear it with one arm raised. Encouraged by that action, the Bavarian team found the equalizer in the 53rd minute.

Coming out with the ball from behind, Konrad Laimer passed long for Sané, near the line on the right wing. The former Schalke and Manchester City player began a gallop inwards, left Ferland Mendy’s marking and, as soon as he stepped into the Real Madrid area, he made a very powerful left-footed shot that entered Lunin’s goal next to the post, at mid-height.

Just four minutes later, Musiala channeled another swift Bayern attack and received a kick on his shin from Lucas Vázquez, which the referee awarded as a penalty. Kane, full of poise, deceived Lunin with his shot and scored 2-1, a haul that could have grown if Kane’s own left footed shot in the 66th minute had not collided with Antonio Rüdiger.

At the exit of that corner, Eric Dier headed alone and higher than anyone else, but Lunin caught the ball at his feet. In the 71st minute, a similar shot, although Dier’s header was less clean and the Real Madrid goalkeeper also hugged the ball. Carlo Ancelotti responded with several changes, bringing on Brahim Díaz and Luka Modric.

The fresh blood in the visiting team was quickly noticed, first with Vinícius in the 79th minute receiving a pass on the left side of the rival area, although his shot was repelled by Neuer. It didn’t take long for the Brazilian to make it 2-2, making a dribble that linked with a low pass to Rodrygo.

Inside the Bayern area, Rodrygo was more skillful than Min-jae to gain space and turned on his axis, being clearly blocked by the South Korean centre-back. The ‘trencilla’, Clément Turpin, did not hesitate to blow the penalty and Vinícius sealed the tie, ultimately definitive, after also deceiving the goalkeeper. But the Bernabéu will pass sentence again.
