“Philips is working with healthcare systems to help them address resource shortages and ever-increasing patient volumes, so having access to mobile MR scanners is a real game-changer for remote and rural communities across the country.” By introducing our innovative technology to the mobile MR market, we are significantly reducing the operational and sustainability issues associated with conventional scanners and helping healthcare providers deliver quality, fast, patient-friendly care. “said Ruud Zwerink, general director of Magnetic Resonance at Philips.

Unlike the 1,500 liters of helium used by conventional MRI magnets, the Philips BlueSeal magnet uses a new, highly efficient microcooling technology that requires only 7 liters of liquid helium. This reduces potential long interruptions to MR services due to helium issues and eliminates helium refill costs over the life of the magnet. The BlueSeal MR Mobile can also connect to Philips Radiology Operations Command Center (ROCC), a multi-vendor, multi-modality virtual imaging solution, which securely connects technicians with imaging experts remotely in real time using audio, video and chat.
