MADRID, 14 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Safe Rental has asked the Ministry of Housing to temporarily suspend the declaration of a stressed area for the rental of housing in Catalonia, as the Community is in an electoral period and the autonomous Government is in office, as reported by the company this Thursday in a statement.

Specifically, Rental Insurance has made the request after learning yesterday that the president of the Generalitat, Pere Aragonés, has called elections in Catalonia.

The president of Seguro Rental, Antonio Carroza, has explained that the Ministry of Housing is the one that has the final say in authorizing or not the implementation of the stressed area in Catalonia.

Likewise, Antonio Carroza has stated that the Housing Law is intended for scenarios where institutions are operating regularly and “not under an electoral process”, pointing out that, according to the Housing Law, the application of a stressed market area “It makes sense for it to be applied” with a “fully constituted” autonomous government.

Thus, the president of Seguro Rental has indicated that the current Government in office of the Generalitat “is not legitimized to make such an important decision” and has reiterated his concern at not knowing who will govern in the Community, because “it would mean a mortgage for a future Government that does not agree with this measure”.
