MADRID, 24 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, who today announced a reflection to decide whether to continue leading the Executive, cannot dissolve the Cortes before May 30, one year after the previous dissolution, but he does have it in his power to submit to a question of trust that does not require an absolute majority.
Another option would be to hand over the Presidency to another socialist, but that would imply a new consultation process for the King and organize another investiture that, with the current political map, would require many agreements and complicities.
Pedro Sánchez’s decision to stop his public agenda and decide whether or not to continue in the Government has opened a range of possibilities with their pros and cons.
